Grade 6
Language Arts provincial achievement test first 3 periods. Math review after that. Feels like the movie "Groundhog Day!" Math p.a.t. tomorrow. Get a good sleep and have a good breakfast.
Important: The kids were given Complementary Course choice sheets for next year. It is important that they get these completed properly and returned a.s.a.p. because the courses will be filled on a first come first serve basis. So, if they take too long to get their form in, they may be in some courses next year they don't really want.

No science today because of the grade 6 social studies provincial achievement test. The luck kids had phys. ed instead.
Grade 6
We spent the morning doing the Social Studies provincial achievement test. After the exam the 6R class went out and played soccer on the wet field. Sorry about the wet clothes and shoes! (but we had fun). Other than that, we just continued plugging away at the math and science review.

Science: We had a quiz today on parts of a plane, and movements of a plane. The kids marked theirs already, so you can ask them how they did.
The Flight title pages were due today and a few kids didn't hand theirs in. They are losing marks for every day late.
Today we made "Flying Rabbits" and tried manipulating different variables to see how the "Rabbits" responded. Lots of fun.

Free dance entry
I'll cover the cost of the dance for the first student to tell me what the pictures at the top of my blog represent. A hint: you may want to look up the Greek alphabet online.
Science 5W
Today we put a couple of light bulbs over an aquarium that has dirt and water in it. We graphed the temperature increase of the air, dirt and water over a few hours, and then the temperature decrease after the bulbs were turned off. If the students didn't finish their graph in class, they were to take it home to finish.
Grade 6
Math: We continued with measuring angles today. If the students didn't finish measuring and adding up the angles in the 8 triangles, they should finish this if they have a protractor. We will be having a quiz next week on measuring, drawing and classifying angles.
Science: 6R and 6S have their Flight title pages due on Monday. They are also having a short vocabulary quiz on Monday (6R will be told about this tomorrow).
Other: There is a dance tomorrow after lunch. The students need to bring $2 to get in (you're welcome A***). They also can bring a non-perishable food donation and get entered in a draw.
